Taking an honest appraisal of our situations and applying a "quality vs. quantity" approach to our thinking might do us some good. Think about this:
1. Values - You could say a million things here but lets take RELATIONSHIPS....do you surround yourself with true friends (QUALITY) or people that you merely consider acquaintances (QUANTITY)?
2. Sleep - Do you toss and turn for 8 hours (QUANTITY) or do you get a solid, uninterrupted 6 (QUALITY)?
3. Nutrition - Do you try to shop for a lot while paying a little? Count calories needlessly and only feel satisfied when you have eaten a massive amount of food (All QUANTITY)? How about buying organic, non-GMO, minimally processed foods and eating until satisfied based off of what your body is telling you (QUALITY)?
4. Movement - Do you slave away at your local gym for more than 1 hour and apply a "more is better" approach (QUANTITY)? What are your feelings about the intensity of what you do trumping the duration of what your doing? Are you focusing on form, tempo, rest periods and utilizing a movement first style of training (All QUALITY)?
The closer we move toward the QUALITY end of the scale the more everything improves! By applying consistent decision making and surrounding yourself with positive influences (CORE VALUES) you will come to find that life is a bit less stressful....less stressing out leads to better sleep....better sleep will leave you feeling recharged and clear headed - having a clear mind will enable you to make better choices with your nutrition....better nutritional choices will enable your body to utilize the energy you are giving it and move to create something beautiful - a brand new you!
